With Arrow set to go on its midseason break soon, a surprising casting addition has been made which we’ll see pay off when The CW series returns next year. That is Tom Amandes as The Calculator (yes, that’s actually the name of a DC Comics character), a villain who is described by the network as a criminal mastermind and technical genius.
The Calculator, whose real name is Noah Kuttler, uses his advanced skills in computer science and internet manipulation to blackmail Roy (Colton Haynes) out of retirement to do his bidding, which leads to an epic battle with Team Arrow.
This casting explains why the former Arsenal is going to return to Arrow then, something fans have been wondering and speculating about ever since it was revealed earlier this week.
As for Amandes, he has some history with Arrow producer Greg Berlanti, as he starred in some of his previous shows like Everwood, Eli Stone and No Ordinary Family. Other recent TV credits include Chicago Fire, Revenge, Parenthood and Scandal.
The Calculator is set to appear in two episodes of Arrow, with the first being the twelfth. That one’s titled “Unchained,” and silly name aside, it definitely sounds as if this bad guy will be making life difficult for Team Arrow.
